I thought you might be interested in the information below on a number of scores…a good friend of mine is nearing completion on a project of blood/sweat/tears/arrest in filming a documentary about the impact of Donald Trump’s golf development on the local residents in Aberdeenshire. Without any financial backing for over a year and having been rejected by commissioning editors all over the place, he turned to the internet and some ‘people power’ for financial assistance in the last few weeks of the project. In a week he has had over 40,000 youtube hits and raised a few thousand pounds. I thought you might be interested in the work he is doing, let alone the example of this that you can struggle away on your own for so long and suddenly find support worldwide for what you are doing.

Please forgive me for this second group email but I want to update you on our extraordinary crowd sourcing progress at the end of week one as we work to finishYou’ve Been Trumped to theatrical standard in time for its World Premiere at a major international film festival in May. Full details will be announced on 22 March.
After just days we’ve raised over $9,500 (nearly £6,000) through ourIndieGoGo Crowd Sourcing, with over 130 people funding the film. We notched up 40,000 plays on YouTube within 24 hours at the weekend and Sigur Ros frontman jonsi has promoted the film on his Facebook and official website.
Support has come from around the world – even from Japan despite the horrific ongoing events there. Kevin Macdonald – the Oscar winning director of Touching the Void and The Last King of Scotland – is among those to invest in the film. Our crowd sourcing drive prompted The Sunday Times to run a story on the film at the weekend which was picked up by the Press and Journal yesterday.
