WINNERS OF SOCIAL ENTERPRISE AWARDS SCOTLAND 2014

Social Enterprise Scotland announced the winners of the Social Enterprise Awards Scotland 2014, at a special lunch event in Edinburgh today.

 

The Social Enterprise of the Year was Wasps Studios, based in Glasgow and operating across Scotland.

 

Awards will be presented to the winners at a Scottish Parliament reception on the evening of Tuesday 4 November, where social entrepreneurs will meet with MSPs and other key partners.

 

Fraser Kelly, Chief Executive of Social Enterprise Scotland said:

 

“Yet again a simply outstanding collection of social enterprise activity impressed the judging panel and resulted in worthy winners in all categories. Congratulations to all of the 2014 applicants who are, with imagination, creativity and dogged determination, showing the breadth, depth and reach of social enterprise in Scotland.”

 

The winners are:

 

Category 1 – Social Enterprise of the Year – Wasps Studios (Glasgow and Scotland-wide). ng homes (ng2) was also highly commended in this category.

 

Category 2 – One to Watch – Lochbroom Woodfuels (Ullapool).

 

Category 3 – Prove It Social Impact – Cunninghame Housing Association – Citrus Energy (Ardrossan).

 

Category 4 – Social Enterprise Market Builder – City of Edinburgh Council & Edinburgh Social Enterprise Network (ESEN).

 

Category 5 – Inspiring Youth – Firstport (Beyond the Finish Line) and Icecream Architecture (Glasgow). Stonelaw High Fair Traders (schools winner, Rutherglen).
