Wee Red Upcycles CIC is a Community Interest Company (not for profit) that specialises in teaching valuable transferable skills in repair, re-designing and upcycling of furniture to vulnerable adults and young people within its community. Building confidence, self-esteem and breaking down barriers to support people to reach their full potential through a creative process, they aim to reduce social isolation, mental health issues and improve individuals’ employability skills.
They use items diverted from landfill as training materials in their workshops and training programmes. They deliver fun friendly workshops and training courses in a relaxed all- inclusive non-judgemental environment to vulnerable groups and the wider community across East Lothian, Edinburgh and further afield.
They run workshops for other third sector and private organisations, corporate team days, kids workshops as well as kids parties – see details below for more information.
Wee Red Upcycles aims to inspire people to be least wasteful and think about how all of us can upcycle, reuse and redesign items destined for landfill – and, in doing so, promote a circular economy and inspire a zero waste society. They are located in Haddington, East Lothian and, as a social enterprise, 100% of profits are reinvested back into Wee Red Upcycles CIC to continue its work.
They run their workshops and training programmes from their premises in Church Street, Haddington.
