Get limbering up folks, next week’s event is open to adults of all ages to join in!

A volunteer-ran social enterprise group for 50+ Glaswegians has came up with a novel idea to keep their daytime disco ongoing amid the coronavirus outbreak – by doing it via Skype.

Weekday Wow Factor runs a daytime disco at Sanctuary nightclub in the west end of the city on Monday mornings to help awaken the inner child among its particpants.

But with the group now applying social distance principles in light of the virus, they did things a bit differently on Monday by hosting a virtual daytime disco using video conferencing technology.

The next virtual event will take place on Monday, March 30th at 11am. With those wishing to take part having to download Skype on your Tablet, smart phone or computer and sending your email address to Weekday Wow Factor privately.

With the next boogie open to Glaswegians and beyond and adults of all ages and abilities.

Weekday Wow Factor told Glasgow Live that they are encouraging family members or friends to help an older person to set up with their devices and help them use Skype to join in.

And they’ve cited the example of one of their 90-year-old participants who was at yesterday’s virtual disco as evidence to show that its not impossible!

And they have also put a call out for sponsors to sponsor the daytime disco so they can hire DJsor if DJs are free themselves on Monday mornings and might want to lend a hand over the next few weeks then they can get in touch with them.

Weekday Wow Factor can be contacted via their Facebook page HERE or by emailing weekdaywowfactor@gmail.com
