UK Partnership Agreement for ESIF 2014 – 2020

The European Commission has now adopted a Partnership Agreement with the United Kingdom setting down the strategy for the use of European Structural and Investment Funds throughout the country for the period 2014 – 2020.
EUR 11.8 billion has been allocated to the UK for Cohesion Policy, of which approximately EUR 477 million is for the Scotland European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and EUR 418 million for the Scotland European Social Fund (ESF).
An additional EUR 5.18 billion has been allocated to the UK from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), of which approximately EUR 841 million is for the Scottish Rural Development Programme (SRDP).
The indicative allocations for support within Scotland by thematic objective include amongst them:
• EUR 170 million within ESF for ‘Promoting sustainable and quality employment and supporting labour mobility’
• EUR 136 million (EUR 89 million ESF, EUR 47 million SRDP) for ‘Promoting social inclusion, combating poverty and any discrimination’
• EUR 149 million within ESF for ‘Investing in education, training and vocational training for skills and lifelong learning’
