Senscot is providing support to link social enterprise and social enterprise thematic networks into the new integration arrangements, particularly in terms of building longer term social capital and sustainability. This involves linking local social enterprise activity with Third Sector Interfaces and statutory bodies to ensure understanding of social enterprise for the public sector and for social enterprises to fully understand locality planning.
This draws on the work of Assist Social Capital’s pilot, ‘Engaging Community Assets’, the Scottish Government funded pilot with a focus on the positive capability and capacity of individual communities and supports them to develop services (using social enterprises) to improve the social capital and thus overall well-being of the community. It is anticipated that the learning from the pilot will be extremely valuable in informing the discussions and developments in health and social care that are emerging across Scotland.
