Third Sector Enterprise Fund

Third Sector Enterprise Fund
Scottish Government
18.12.08

The Scottish Government’s £12 million Third Sector Enterprise Fund, aimed at encouraging Third Sector organisations to become more enterprising, was launched on 9 December 08 by Jim Mather (Minister for Enterprise).

The fund will be managed and delivered by the Scottish Government Third Sector Division, who are currently finalising the Information and Guidance on ‘How to apply’ which will appear on the SG website during January 2009. The Enterprise Fund itself will open for applications in late January 2009 and will run until March 2011.

The key purpose of the fund is to increase the capacity, capability and financial sustainability of third sector organisations. The fund will offer between £25,000 and £100,000 to third sector organisations to build their capacity, capability, financial sustainability and growth in turnover.

Applications for funding in excess of £70,000 will need to be supported by a business plan. The fund will focus on supporting enterprise in the third sector through investment in organisations – increasing organisational capacity, rather than project funding.

There will be an email enquiry address set up on the Scottish Government’s website in the next couple of days http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Topics/People/15300/funding/enterprising-skills-fund
