The SENs: Friday 8th January 2016

Over the last couple of years, Community Jobs Scotland (CJS) has seen over 6000 young people employed across the third sector. Many social enterprises have been engaged with CJS and as well as providing employment opportunities for young people in a supportive environment they have also been able to develop and grow their enterprises through being involved in the programme. CJS is now making further opportunities available to eligible young people who have been volunteering with third sector organisations or social enterprises. Whether you have been involved in the programme before or not, the CJS Team would be happy give you further information – and the chance to provide a young person with a job opportunity they otherwise might not have had. For more info, email or see their website Over the past 18 months, Diane our SE & Sport Coordinator, has been involved in discussions around the emerging interest in the power of sport to make social impact.  Although sport for change is the raison d’etre for all Sport SEN members, until recently this work had been overshadowed by a focus on participation and elite performance.  To understand the truly remarkable shift please see a short summary of Sport for Development from local to global. Sport SEN member, Ardroy Outdoor Centre, is recruiting a new CEO/General Manager. Prospective candidates do not necessarily require to be specialists in outdoor education as there is already a range of well qualified staff on site. What is being looked for is an individual with good all round general manager experience and excellent people skills who will not disrupt a well settled and experienced team of over 20 staff. Please circulate to any contacts that you think maybe interested.
