Final programme for SE & Sport Conference – ‘Inspiring our Leaders’ is now available. The event is taking place on 18th March at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow. As well as a full schedule of presentations and workshops, our event will also see the formal launch of the Robertson Trust and Scottish Govt’s new £1m fund to support sport social enterprises across Scotland as part of the Games Legacy programme. See more.Another of the partners in this initiative is Social Investment Scotland (SIS). They are currently advertising for an Investment Manager whose primary responsibilities will be focussed on the delivery of the Legacy programme. See details. Book your place. This year’s Argyll & Bute Social Enterprise Network (ABSEN) Conference takes place in the Argyll Hotel, Inverary on the 24th and 25th March. The event is open to all Third Sector organisations in Argyll & Bute; ABSEN members, of course; as well an array of friends from across the social enterprise community. The event will feature guest speakers, sessions on the Third Sector Partnership; Community Economic Development as well as workshops on Procurement, Social Media, Good Governance, Marketing, Leadership & Barriers to Growth, and Partnership Working. See details. Senscot recently conducted a Community Food Survey. We received about 50 responses – you can view the full results of the survey. Next steps include the Community Food and Social Enterprise Roundtable applying for funding to support social enterprises in the selling of their products along with training for marketing and product placement. For further info’ or if you have a food or drink product you would like to sell, please contact Danielle. On Friday, 14th March, Moray TSI will launch the Social Enterprise Strategy for Moray at their ‘Join the Dots’ conference.  Delegates will have the opportunity to share ideas and engage in the development of the Action Plan that will accompany the Strategy.  The programme for the day includes a market place, workshops, SE Awards as well as presentations from guest speakers – including Richard Lochhead MSP. See more information. Good news this week for West Lothian SEN. At WLSEN’s  ‘Partnering for Success’ event, West Lothian Council announced a further £50k funding package. This significant investment demonstrates the Council’s recognition of and faith in the work and contribution already being made by WLSEN over the last 12 months. The funding will secure WLSEN until August 2015 and will allow them to begin planning for the longer term. Congratulations all round. View the route map. Well done to Sports SEN member, MACPool, which has recently negotiated an increase in their service level agreement with Argyll & Bute Council.  Again this local authority are recognising the value in social enterprises delivering rural services – following on from the recent successful announcement by Atlantis Leisure which has also re-negotiated with the Council an ongoing partnership deal as their existing 21 year deal was coming to an end.
