An event for the community sector at the Scottish Parliament, 26th April, 2013

Senscot, Scottish Community Alliance and Scottish Parliamentary Corporate Body invite you to attend a very special event – a first for the community sector in Scotland – at which representatives from all parts of the community sector and from all parts of Scotland will gather in the Scottish Parliament.

The day will offer a mixture of debate and discussion on some of the key issues facing Scotland’s communities as well as providing an opportunity to celebrate our achievements. We will be using the Main Chamber and the Parliament’s Committee Rooms during the day.

We have had to place a limit on the number of places allocated to each network and therefore it is important that every available place is used. I would therefore ask three things of you:

• Please confirm with me and aileen@dtascot.org.uk whether you are able to accept this invitation.
• Please inform me and aileen@dtascot.org.uk whether you will need help with accommodation on the night of 25th April to enable you to arrive on time at the Parliament. (9.00am for a 9.30am start – registration and security checks take time)
• Please, contact your local MSP well in advance of the event.  Let him know that you will be there and that you hope to see her/him there.

You will notice that I’m asking you to copy in Aileen at DTA Scotland in your communications with me.  This is because DTA Scotland are handling the administration for this event and Aileen is at the centre of this.

When we receive confirmation that you are able to attend, we will acknowledge this with a further email containing more details, a full programme and asking you to select which of the six sessions in the Emporium of Dangerous Ideas that you wish to attend.

There is no charge for the day which is being jointly sponsored by Big Lottery and Scottish Government. Sponsorship has permitted us to provide some travel bursaries. If you wish to apply for a travel bursary, please let me know, copying in aileen@dtascot.org.uk

I very much hope you will able to attend. Please reply to this invitation as soon as you are able to.

Kind regards

Aidan Pia
