Social Enterprise Manager
Scottish Enterprise (SE) is Scotland’s main economic development agency. We help Scottish businesses to grow nationally and internationally, to become more efficient and innovative, and to access the funds they need to develop. We also attract overseas companies to invest in Scotland.
The difference you’ll make
In this challenging role you’ll help us deliver the Scottish Government’s ambitions for inclusive growth by championing support for social enterprises. Your initial task will be to help define and develop our approach to supporting this sector. In the longer term you’ll establish strong relationships with other organisations that provide services to social enterprises, to ensure our services are delivered in a cohesive fashion. You’ll be expected to establish yourself as an ambassador for social enterprise support, and become the first port of call for internal colleagues who manage relationships with SE’s social enterprise customers.
You’ll deliver regular briefings to colleagues, partners and customers to raise understanding of the support services available to the sector.
You can be based at any SE office in central Scotland. Some travel to other SE offices will be required.
The qualities you’ll bring
Degree qualified or with equivalent relevant experience, you might already be working with a social enterprise, or for an organisation that provides support to them. Whatever your background, you’ll have a broad understanding of the ways they operate and the challenges they face. You’ll also have some knowledge of public sector support and an awareness of wider economic development in Scotland.
You’ll be a strong communicator, enthusiastic, and confident delivering your vision to mixed audiences at all levels. You’ll be a good networker and be able to develop and manage collaborative relationships that have an impact on the way SE achieves its objectives.
