Social Enterprise Academy: Highland Offices Opens
The Academy’s new office base in Inverness is now operational. This new Highlands office will offer a number of fully-funded programmes and modules all over the Highlands & Islands in an effort to help develop the growing number of social businesses and SMEs in more rural areas of Scotland. Chris Higgins, Head of Culture & Third Sector at Highlands & Islands Enterprise (HIE), who are co-funding the project with the European Social Fund and The Social Enterprise Academy, said,
‘The growing number of social enterprises across the Highlands & Islands has proved that this is a dynamic sector of development. The Social Enterprise Academy has an outstanding track record in providing high quality learning opportunities and training locally for both new and established businesses. The base in Inverness gives us access to the same level of service in the Highlands & Islands as is available in the Central Belt.’
The Academy is thrilled to have this new base in the Highlands & Islands and the ability to offer learning at no cost to participants. We are also delighted to welcome Lorna Dinning as the new Financial Administrator, Roddy Dyce as Learning Administrator and Oban-based Nicola Welsh as the Programme Manager.
