Single Interface Meeting
We will work together to pool resourcefulness and show leadership at national level with the over riding purpose of ensuring effective third sector support and representation on CPPs and Government.
Given the need for social enterprise to be represented and supported at local interface level and in terms of peer support at national level, Kenny will report on our meeting to tomorrow’s VAS EGM, with a view to establishing a close practical working arrangement with the Coalition and Senscot – either through a memorandum of understanding or some other agreed framework to ensure that social enterprise networks, or where they don’t exist, individual social enterprises are fully engaged in the single interface process. To include: full engagement in the pre planning and marketing the forthcoming events relating to SVA/single interfaces and as a matter of urgency, social enterprise representation at the VAS sub group compiling the guidance for the core framework which is required to be delivered in November. This is to include consultation and peer networking and monitoring of interfaces at national level.
It was agreed that there was a need for local interfaces to acknowledge and understand the distinct role and contribution of the community sector in relation to building community resilience and the wider empowerment agenda. In particular the engagement of local interfaces with regional and national community sector intermediaries needs to be addressed.
SCVO will consider how social enterprise research needs can be included in the Managing Intelligence Platform with a view to consulting the group at its next meeting.
