SEN member in Stirling to pilot new film project for isolated students

In September 2019, Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling is piloting a new project called Into Film.

They will be working with the University of Stirling on a project designed to use film to support isolated students on campus.

The project aims to provide ten students an opportunity to see a film of their choice, once a week for ten weeks at Macrobert Arts Centre’s cinema.

After the film, there will be the chance to enjoy a bite to eat, and the chance to talk about the movie.

Recent research has shown that a monthly cultural experience can reduce the risk of depression in older people.

Inspired by this, Macrobert Arts Centre wanted to see how a weekly trip to the cinema can promote mental wellbeing in the student population.
