Wild Sparks

Wild Sparks Outdoor Play was founded in 2014 to help children in and around Eastern Perthshire to get ahead, stay healthy and have fun in the great outdoors.

They run a number of holiday activity programmes in Alyth and Dunkeld, an outdoor nursery in Coupar Angus and also deliver training for play and learning practitioners across Scotland.

Wild Sparks activities are led by experienced playworkers, teachers and Forest School Leaders. The team’s range of complementary skills and experiences creates a safe, exciting and challenging environment for all children.

Based in seven acres of mixed woodland, on a private estate, on the edge of Coupar Angus and Burrelton, Wee Wild Sparks outdoor nursery is a fully registered nursery providing quality day care for children aged 3-7.

At Wee Wild Sparks young children are free to play and learn at their own pace, in their own way, inspired by the changing seasons and stimulating woodland surroundings.

Since launching in January 2017, Wild Sparks has supported over 25 children to grow, play and learn through a nature-based pedagogy, fully compatible with Curriculum for Excellence.

Children are encouraged to develop emotionally, cognitively and socially, building resilience, skills and knowledge through indoor and outdoor activities to make them ready not just for school, but for life.
