Sea the Change is a new social enterprise based in Eyemouth that strives to help create happier, healthier, more sustainable communities. Sea the Change seeks to encourage the whole community to adopt new behaviours and attitudes that create a happier, healthier, more sustainable world. Their events, activities and campaigns engage and educate children and adults in the Borderlands (North Northumberland & Scottish Borders) and encourage everyone to make small, but positive changes to raise environmental awareness through engagement and protection of the natural environment.
Their core activities include:
The Outdoor Explorers programme gives children the opportunity to learn and develop in a natural environment, sparking their intrinsic motivations to explore, create and be curious about the world around them and to learn the importance of protecting and caring for their environment.
Sea the Change aims to empower young people in the Scottish Borders to be the leading environmental force that drives their sustainable school.
They endeavour to deliver a supportive learning programme that integrates practical solutions to make sustainability simple in line with the curriculum that motivates all people in schools and communities to live more sustainably.
Sea the Change hopes to formally launch its new Beach Wheelchair Scheme at Coldingham Bay. They currently have available for hire a large hippocamp wheelchair (mainly used by children and small adults), but hope to receive additional funding to allow them to purchase a Tundra wheelchair and hoist that will allow everyone, regardless of their physical abilities, the opportunity to enjoy the beach.
