Opening its doors in the summer of 2019, Moray Sports Centre is the realisation of an ambitious project to bring world class facilities to the Highlands.
Established in 2015, the Moray Sports Foundation set out to widen access to professional-standard sports facilities for communities in the North of Scotland.
Moray Sports Centre (MSC) believes that in getting more people, more active, more often, it can establish a foundation to build a better future for Moray. Making a long-term proactive impact on health and wellbeing and social issues affecting our communities.
Construction on the first phase of the £12m centre began in May 2018, with a series of fundraising campaigns and grant donations making the project possible.
The charity-run centre boasts a multi-purpose hall with separate gyms, indoor cycling room, and numerous studios for fitness and mindfulness classes.
There are facilities for athletics, gymnastics, archery, basketball, outdoor trim trail and physiotherapy, while a programme of activities is constantly adapted to suit the needs of the community.
The facility will be the first of its kind in Moray, because it will be the only multi-purpose building in the region that will be able to host over 1,000 people at sporting events.
The sports hall has been built to national competition levels, which means it can play host to national badminton, netball or table tennis competitions.
Fundraising for the next phases of the centre’s developments are ongoing, with indoor tennis courts the next stage for construction.
MSC is fully inclusive, and includes a custom-built inclusive play park, as well as a café and restaurant area with seating for up to 100 people. The centre also runs a series of inclusive summer camps which can cater for children with additional support needs.
Memberships for gym and classes starts from just £28 for adults and £15 a month for juniors.
