Lodestone Works

Lodestone Works functions as a hub for social enterprises and entrepreneurial activity in the town of Bowling in West Dunbartonshire.

Established in 2017, Lodestone work with freelancers, artists, start-ups, creatives and established organisations, renting out professional spaces, hot desks, meeting rooms and studios.

Flexible arrangements are offered for full time or part time desks, as well as networking events.

Membership packages start at £15 per day up to £165 for the month, which includes broadband, free stationary, reduced-cost printing and unlimited coffee.

Lodestone’s ambition is to grow their venue to enable them to raise the profile of small businesses in West Dunbartonshire and beyond, creating a collaborative platform for entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and grow their business.

As of November 2017, Lodestone were working on opening a second venue to bring additional studio and workshop space, as well as providing a venue for larger events.

Operating as a social enterprise itself, all profits generated by Lodestone Works are reinvested in the Bowling Harbour Project, a community organisation dedicated to developing creative, environmental and people-focussed activities in Bowling.

Bowling Harbour Project work across three main thematic areas:

  • Off Grid – Food foraging, herbal remedies, sustainability and environmental activities.
  • Creativity – Arts, crafts, workshops.
  • Place – Celebrating and collating the heritage of the local community.
