ACTive INquiry

ACTive Inquiry is an arts company based in Leith, Edinburgh committed to creating exciting new theatre and arts projects with and for communities. ACTive INquiry promotes increased participation in the arts as a catalyst for active involvement in society.

There current projects include the Forum Theatre project in Leith which aims to create a space to debate issues relating to the current and impending budget cuts proposed by the UK Coalition Government. Why do these cuts have to happen? How will they affect people and communities? What can we do to question and fight them?

The first stage of this project is now complete and involved performances throughout community venues in Leith to a combined audience of over 270 people. Check out the write up on their blog for further details.

The second stage of the project will begin in February 2012. They invite all audience members from the first stage, and others interested in the topic, to work with them one evening a week to develop their own pieces of Forum Theatre exploring the Cuts for performances at a community event in May 2012. More details to follow shortly.
