Pluss become the first Social Firm to hold the Social Enterprise Mark
Martin Davies said the Social Enterprise Mark is proof of Pluss delivering an ‘effective’ service. He added: ‘We have people with disabilities employed in all levels of the company, not just the shop floor. The processes and procedures allow people to develop in the company’.
Pluss’ vision is to ensure people with disabilities are enabled and empowered to reach their goals. The social enterprise offers a range of training and recruitment services, and also direct employment in their manufacturing and mobility equipment businesses.
Current Social Enterprise Mark holders reflect the diversity of the sector which now includes development trusts, community transport businesses, companies limited by guarantee, co-operatives and community interest companies.
The Social Enterprise Mark is funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund and it is sponsored by the The Co-operative Group South & West and Triodos Bank. RISE manages the Mark in South West England and is funded by the South West Regional Development Agency.
