On the move

On the move
Geoff Pope, Scottish Government
10.04.12

Dear All,

I wanted to let you know that I will change jobs within the Scottish Government next month.  I’ve been offered a position in International Division as Policy Manager for South Asia, North Africa and the Middle East.  This is a fantastic opportunity to me to work in an area that really interests me (I worked for Amnesty International and Oxfam for many years before joining the Scottish Government).  My start date has yet to be finalised and I’ll confirm details later.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank all that I’ve worked with (both internally and externally) over the years for your good humour and enthusiasm.  I also wanted to say how much I’ll miss working with the third sector and social enterprises.  It’s an inspiring sector and over the years I’ve seen many examples of how organisations in the sector are able to change peoples’ lives and environment around and to really make a difference.  Scotland is a better place for all your efforts.

I’ll hopefully keep in touch with many of you, so as they say it’ll probably be more “au revoir” than goodbye.  In the meantime, thanks for all your help, insight and support over the years.

All best wishes
