On ‘er bike…
Following on from national bike week last week here is news from the Homeless World Cup Foundation and Naomi Johnson (formerly Firstport) about her upcoming 20,000km ride.
On Monday 2nd July Naomi leaves Edinburgh for a year to embark on a bike trip of significant proportion. Starting in Seattle on July 7th the start up ride will travel down the West Coast to San Francisco, before moving to Japan, Nepal and India. Following a month with family she will get back in the saddle and pedal from Cairo to Capetown – itself almost 12,000km. The final leg of the journey is still being planned but is set to encompass South East Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
With The Homeless World Cup Foundation based nearby and the global nature of the work Naomi felt that this would be a fantastic opportunity to think global, act local with an aim of raising funds to support their work.
