New Shop opening for leading social enterprise

New Shop opening for leading social enterprise
Spruce Carpets Ltd
13.11.08

Award winning social enterprise, Spruce Carpets, opens its first shop on Kilmarnock Road in Shawlands Shopping centre.

An ideal location, the new shop looks onto Kilmarnock Road for all passers by to see.  The shop also brings a new dimension to the services Spruce provides to the community by being open at the weekend and more accessible to the south east of the city.

There is a wide selection of refurbished, new and unused carpets, vinyl and carpet tiles available to buy and knowledgeable staff to help people who need some advice on quality and size.  Delivery service also available and Spruce can recommend professional fitters.

Izzie Johnston, CEO of Spruce Carpets said, “This is great news for Spruce, particularly with the run up to Christmas.  Our shop in Govan is not open at the weekends, which means many people who are at work struggle to get down to the shop.  Shawlands Arcade is great for public transport and passers by.”

Spruce provides a city wide service which means the new shop is ideal for working with local social work services and other support agencies.

Spruce has recently been awarded the Scottish Business in the Community, Social Enterprise of the Year 2008.  This national accolade reflects the commitment to the wider social and environmental concerns of Spruce.
