One of Fife SEN’s longest serving members has won the contract to deliver business support to the social enterprise sector in Fife. At the Fife SEN meeting on Thursday John Oats from Brag outlined details of the contract to deliver a One Stop Shop for start up social enterprises, 8 awareness raising sessions and a social enterprise trade fair; alongside their latest Motivate to Innovate project. Fife SEN was the first Network to get off the ground and have a number of other highly successful and well known members including Recycle Fife and the Ecology Centre as well as some new members such as Mybus.

Dumfries & Galloway SEN are recruiting a Social Enterprise Support Officer to help the social enterprise sector in the region grow. The SE Support Worker will work with DGSEN to support the development of new and existing social enterprises in Dumfries & Galloway, liaising with partners and statutory agencies, encouraging membership of DGSEN and arranging training and networking events.  The post is being supported by Scottish Government and Dumfries and Galloway Council; more info

The Youth SEN has taken another step launching an online forum. TENDERS: The Centre of Health and Wellbeing (CHWB) seeks proposals, from individuals or organisations, to deliver its Laughter Therapy programme. This project requires a suitably qualified individual / organisation to develop disseminate and test new tools associated with laughter therapy. For more info

NEWS: A small social firm, Greyfriars Recycling of Wood (GRoW) take discarded church furniture and either refurbish it or make it into beautiful new handcrafted wooden products volunteers work alongside skilled craftsmen to produce the products. Case Study: Fife SEN

Fife Social Enterprise Network was the first Local Social Enterprise Network to start up. The first meeting took place in 2004 at Furniture Plus in Dysart.  Over the past 6 years FSEN has gone through some highs and lows but has never lost its identity as a hub of social enterprise across its membership.
