Networks1st Update: Friday 09th December 2011

Voluntary Action Scotland (VAS), this week, has produced its ‘Funding Distribution Proposal’. See, https://senscot.net/?viewid=11780. The document is for consultation and sets out proposed funding levels for each Interface (TSIs). It is based on a number of key principles, the first of which is that “a review of the distribution can only take place in an environment where there is an increase in the total funding to support TSIs”  SENs who wish to give feedback/comments should do so asap to their local Interface. VAS’ deadline for comments is Friday 13th Jan 2012 – and they’re only accepting one response per Interface. VAS also refreshed their website last week. If you want to find out more about VAS, your local Interface contact and how they support social enterprise in your area, see www.voluntaryactionscotland.org.uk

Edinburgh SEN held their first AGM as a constituted community benefit society on 6th Wednesday of this week (6th Dec). It been an eventful and successful year for Edinburgh SEN. Membership continues to grow and, as a partner in the local Interface, they are able to ensure the social enterprise community in the capital is being well supported.
