The programe for this year’s ceilidh at New Lanark is now complete! Our 3 presenters for the Audience with … are Claire Carpenter (The Melting Pot), Frankie Hodge (Re-Cycle Fife) and Dave Simmers (Community Food Initiative North East). The Question Time session will include Fiona Malcolm (Scottish Govt) giving an update on the impending £12 m Enterprise Fund and Gerry Higgins (CEiS) offering his personal take on where the sector should hope to be three years from now. As usual, Laurence will have some words for us before Dinner and we`re also delighted to welcome Mel Young from the Homeless World Cup and a founder member and chair of Senscot. This will allow them to buy their own building, establish a social enterprise hub for West Lothian where economies of scale will be developed to assist social enterprise organisation achieve self sufficiency. They will be employing three new members of staff – a Development Manager, a Development Officer and a Warehouse person. This is the largest single grant ever awarded in West Lothian and staff and directors are excited at the prospects that lie ahead for WELFEHD.For more information contact Angela Moohan angela@welfehd.co.uk.Pat Bowie, now Development Manger at Edinburgth SEN member Re-Union, has email us tell us that the official launch of the new Re-Union widebeam barge is set to take today!!!!! The all day event begins with the launch in Wester Hailes 10.00am, arriving in style at Edinburgh Quay at noon for music and refreshments. The celebration continues between 4.30 and 6.30 pm at Edinburgh Quay in Tollcross with music, drinks and dancing. All are welcome… this boat is for everyone! The new boat is available for corporate, community and social events.
