Networks1st Update: 2nd May 2008

First glance this week at our new web portal for the Networks – NETWORKS 1st.The idea will be to pull together the information held on the main website into a more streamlined format and make it easier to find out who’s who in the Networks, exchange resources and generally connect everyone up. There’s still a bit of work to be done over the coming weeks but, please, feel free to contact us with any events we can highlight or resources you’d be happy to share with other Networks. http://www.senscot.net/networks1st/Next week, the bulletin will be coming from Spain (Laurence escaping the weather again) and to add to the European flavour, Networks 1st Update will come from Genoa, in the north of Italy. I’m off on a study visit, being run by CEiS, to visit social enterprises in Germany and Italy. I’ll be on the hunt for good ideas that we might be able to put into practice over here and also telling them about what we’ve been up to with the Networks over the last few years.Attended the Inverclyde SEN on Thursday in Greenock at the Treetops Community Nursery. 10 organisations were in attendance as well as the Head of Economic Development from Inverclyde Council. Despite the fact that it’s a young SEN, a number of members are working with CEiS who run `Aspire to Enterprise` and are currently negotiating with the Social Enterprise Academy to deliver a package of modules. This might be something other SENs wish to look at. If you’d like more info`on this, contact Danny at 0131-243-2670Dates for Your Diary.
