Networks1st Update: 20th March 2009

This week saw the second of this year’s Community of Business events take place in Inverness. These events are a great opportunity for social and commercial enterprises to meet and develop relationships at a local level. This has already been evident through a joint venture between Haven products and Lip-Ink UK. http://www.lipink.co.uk/SearchResults.aspx?TabID=80The 3rd and final event will be held on Wednesday 25th March at the Glynhill Hotel in Paisley. Geoff Pope (Scottish Govt) and Liam Black, Co-Creator both emphasised the support and opportunities available to Social Enterprises available at the moment. Liam took the opportunity to stress that social enterprise was not for the faint hearted and key to running a successful enterprise is to be ‘well connected, be business savvy and be able to demonstrate your added value clearly`. Once again, they ran their Dragons` Den competition with Kingdom Credit Union winning the `Established Enterprise ` award and Kinetic winning the `New Start` category.
