Networks1st Update: 20th June 2008

Got confirmation on dates for this year`s `Fit for Purpose` Conference looking at health and social enterprise. The event will take place on Tuesday 3rd March 2009 at The Scottish Storytelling Centre on the Royal Mile in Edinburgh. Shona Robison (Minister for Public Health) has accepetd our invitation to be the keynote speaker. Senscot is looking to work with Network members over the coming months to ensure that the key recommendations from the last conference and from the recent case studies are being taken forward. the big news this week has been the launch of the `Enterprising Third Sector Action Plan`. Things will become clearer over the summer in terms of the Investment and Enterprise Funds. We`ll keep you posted on developments so that those who wish to apply are fully informed on the application processes. If you want a detailed run down, you can come along to our AGM in Glasgow next Thursday 26th June at Glasgow Opportunities – Roddy MacDonald (Scottish Govt. Third Sector Division) will be giving us the lowdown on they see it panning out. If you`re interested in coming along, contact karina@senscot.netOn Wednesday Anna attend the Inverclyde SEN Meeting. Inverclyde is in an exciting position; Riverside Inverclyde is a £400 million private/public partnership to develop a 4 mile stretch of coastline from Port Glasgow to Greenock. The group is keen to have local social enterprises involved in the regeneration projects and came along to meet with members of the network. We hope that some of the connections made on the day can develop into something more concrete in the future.Dates for the DiaryTuesday 24th June – Edinburgh SEN, 3pm, Edinburgh Chamber of CommerceThursday 26th June – Senscot AGM, 12.30pm, Glasgow Opportunities, GlasgowThursday 26th June – Dumfries and Galloway SEN,Castle Douglas Town HallFriday 27th June – Glasgow SEN, 10.30am, Wylie and Bissett, GlasgowMonday 30th June – Fife SEN, 10am, Mimac Rushes, Priory Campus, Kirkcaldy
