Networks1st Update: 18th April 2008

Next Tuesday sees the third S2S ( this time in Dundee. This is the biggest trade fair on the social enterprise calendar in Scotland so we’re looking forward to seeing loads of you there. Some will already have your own stand at the event but for those who don’t there will be a Networks 1st stand available. We’ve already had interest from members in Aberdeen, Dumfries & Galloway and Bordes SENs, if you are interested in representing your Network and your social enterprise get in touch with Colin ASAP is currently working on a new section for Networks 1st on the website. We’re keen to make sure that the list of SEN members is as up to date as possible so could you please check the list that’s already there ( and let us know of any changes that need to be made. If you know of any members who are active in your SEN who aren’t mentioned, or you’d like to up date the details we have on file, drop us an email.Mark Arnold of Ottawa Family Serverices in Canada who helps develop social enterprise over there has been in touch this week. Mark is helping an organisation that works with excluded young people to look at setting up a bottle recycling collection business. He is also working with a business partnership with a garage to provide apprenticeships which involves joint ownership of an existing garage. Mark is interested in hearing about any organisations in Scotland that are running similar busineses.
