Networks 1st Update: 27th November 2009

It was good to hear that the three winners of the first Scottish Social Enterprise Awards are all members of Local SENs. The three winners – the Breadmaker, Social Enterprise Clydebank and Alloa Community Enterprises – now go forward to the UK finals with the results being announced at an event in London next week.  Voting for the overall UK winners takes place online so it would be great if you could take the time to register your vote for our Scottish representatives.  Here’s the link,

This week saw the launch of the Govt’s Public Social Partnership project. The event took place at out of the blue in Edinburgh and saw the announcement of the first ten pilots. We’re pleased to see that five of the pilots involve social enterprises and also one LSEN. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of these pilots. The PSP project is designed to improve service delivery and maximise competition by ensuring that the third sector is involved appropriately in the design and commissioning of public services in Scotland.
