Princess Royal Sports Club was opened in June 1997 by HRH The Princess Royal. The name was changed in 1999 to Princess Royal Sports and Community Trust (charity no23857). The aim of the Trust was to extend and support sporting activity and issues of physical fitness to able bodied young people and adults particularly in connection with the local football club. A change of management in 2000 saw the Trust broaden its horizons and adapt an all ages and abilities provision and change it’s name to what we are today. Princess Royal Sports and Community Trust has formed numerous partnerships in the community with Aberdeenshire Council, Aberdeenshire Rural Partnership, Grampian NHS, Aberdeenshire Disability Sport, Aberdeenshire Sports Council, Deveronvale F.C and various local businesses.
Over the last eight years the Trust has worked through various pilot projects to gauge both interest and to identify gaps in provision. This has allowed us to constuct and develop new projects of which are delivered within the community to a clientele of all ages and abilities. Over 1000 participants pass through the fingertips of our 4 full time coaches delivering sessions at P.R.S.C.T, 12 Rural Primary Schools, Banff Academy and 4 Sheltered housing schemes.
