MSc in Play Therapy – Scotland
In collaboration with Queen Margaret University (subject to validation), the Scottish charity With Kids is pleased to announce the introduction of what will be a BAPT accredited Play Therapy training course in Scotland.
This three year taught Masters Programme in Play Therapy is designed to prepare students for working therapeutically with children, young people and their families in a range of settings. The following topics will be covered within the modules:
human development and growth
play therapy theory and skills
play therapy practice (and clinical supervision)
therapeutic theories and concepts related to play therapy practice
understanding of issues affecting clinical work
significance, history, development of play
working with different client groups (e.g. loss, trauma and abuse, fostering and adoption)
young child observations (and attachment theory)
play therapy in context
research methods and portfolio
personal development (through personal therapy and experiential process groups).
Successful graduates will gain an MSc in Play Therapy and will have completed the required training to practice as a Play Therapist.
