Monday sees the launch of two new Scottish Government funded programmes, the Just Enterprise programme offering business support services to Social Entrepreneurs and Enterprising Third Sector Organisations and the Enterprise Growth Fund.

The programmes will be launched on Monday 18th July by John Swinney, Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment & Sustainable Growth at the offices of Specialisterne Scotland in Glasgow, who are building the online access point for both programmes. 

 

The contract for Business Support services has been secured by the Just Enterprise consortium, a consortium of the major social enterprise support providers in Scotland under the banner of Just Enterprise including CEiS, HISEZ, Firstport, Social Enterprise Academy, CEMVO Scotland, Forth Sector Development, Community Enterprise Ltd, Lanarkshire Enterprise Services Ltd, Inspiralba and Ready for Business. 

 

The Wise Group together, with consortium partners CEiS, DSL and the Social Value Lab have been awarded the contract by the Scottish Government to manage and administer the Enterprise Growth Fund.  The Enterprise Growth Fund is a £4m Fund to support Enterprising Third Sector Organisations based in Scotland. Grants between £25,000 and £200,000 will be awarded to support the business development plans of those organisations that demonstrate the greatest potential for growth and sustainability.

 

The Fund will support:

 

v      enterprising Third Sector organisations across Scotland (including those that are equalities-led) growing in financial resilience and sustainability;

 

v      enterprising Third Sector organisations operating as effective, and / or growing businesses;

 

v      Third Sector organisations winning more contracts, including with the public sector;

 

v      the response of the Third Sector to public sector application of Community Benefit clauses and the public-social partnership model being strengthened and maximised;

 

v      new social enterprises being supported to become established and grow; and,

 

v      Third Sector leadership being enhanced to support business development and sustainability.
