Grow 73 supports people of all ages and abilities who live or work in the Rutherglen & Cambuslang area to grow their own produce, learn how to lead more sustainable lives and support biodiversity. Through shared gardening activities, environmental improvements and community development activities we aim to bring together diverse groups to support and learn from each other and improve health and wellbeing in our community.
We are now recruiting two Sessional Community Gardeners to help us deliver our Pollinator Pathway Project. This will see the creation of a biodiversity corridor from Rutherglen train station to Cathkin. The project will develop and improve the knowledge, skills and health of people of all ages and abilities in our community. It will also help pollinating insects to thrive by creating new greenspaces. We will provide new opportunities for social gardening activities to the community.
The role of our Sessional Community Gardeners will be to organise activities in relation to the Pollinator Pathway and support the volunteers who will develop and maintain the growing areas. You’ll work hard for about 8 hours per week but in a rewarding, supportive environment. We want to hear from you if you have experience of working in similar roles. Above all we are looking for people who are passionate and committed and who want to make a difference in our community.
