Gathering Ground CIC

At Gathering Ground, our aim is to create community gathering spaces that use food as a platform to encourage creative learning and cultural integration. We will run educational and informative food-focused events led by our in-house team and in collaboration with external organisations. Our project is to create a socially-engaged food hub serving the North Glasgow area. We will host engaging events and workshops to promote the exploration of different foods and cultures. Our events will be socially inclusive and appeal to a wide-ranging group of people. The program is designed to heal specific social problems such as income deprivation, food poverty and high unemployment. Educational benefits will include the experience of learning about different cultures. This will be facilitated though out events program and encouraging discourse across interdisciplinary fields and communities. As well as our in-house events, we also plan to hire out the venue to corporate, private and third sector organisations. Our long-term goal is to open a permanent food hub and café will allow us to regularly host chefs from marginalised communities on a rotational basis, providing them with training and skills development.
