Scotland’s Winter Festivals is a unique and distinctive programme of events designed to celebrate Scotland’s three national days – St Andrew’s Day, Hogmanay and Burns Night.
From toasting our patron saint on St Andrew’s Day, 30 November, to Burns Night on January 25, and with Hogmanay in between, Scotland’s Winter Festivals is designed to celebrate the spirit and fun of Scotland’s winter season, all warmed up, with a range of exciting events and activity throughout the country.
The programme brings people together from all over the world to celebrate Scotland’s heritage and modern culture and traditions through the best of Scottish music, arts, food and drink and entertainment.
EventScotland, part of VisitScotland, manages the Scotland’s Winter Festivals event fund.
The 2017/2018 Winter Festivals programme supported a dynamic range of 28* new and existing events across 17 Local Authority areas, with over 320,000 attendances. Last year, the programme extended its geographical reach into previously unsupported regions with events in of West Dunbartonshire, Shetland and Orkney.
Funding for 2018/2019 is now open for applications. There is a total fund of £315,000 available in 18/19 to support a range of events with a wide geographical spread across the three celebrations. EventScotland invites creative proposals from organisations to deliver enhanced activity that will reinforce the importance and amplify the celebration of St Andrew’s Day, Hogmanay or Burns Night. Applications can either be in support of an existing event or a brand new event concept.
The application form is available on request. Please follow the link below for application guidelines and criteria information. Deadline for application is 5pm, Friday 18 May.
