New Volunteering Support Fund opens to applications 9 April 2018
The Scottish Government has committed £3.3 million over three years to support volunteering in Scotland until March 2021.
The Volunteering Support Fund managed by Voluntary Action Fund (VAF) will enable Scotland’s small to medium-sized third sector organisations to recruit additional volunteers (who will contribute towards delivering a new volunteering project, or extending/expanding an existing one) and improve how volunteers are supported in their role.
Grants between £7,500 and £10,000 per annum are available for individual organisations, who will be expected to recruit at least 15 additional volunteers, including, 10 who experience disadvantage or would traditionally experience barriers to volunteering; and provide opportunities for both current and new volunteers to benefit from a meaningful volunteering experience, eg through training, learning new skills, and increased participation in their local community.
Further details about eligibility and how to apply can be found on the Volunteering Support Fund page, where you can download the Guidance Notes and apply directly.
The funded activities should take place within the funding period 1 July 2018 to 31 March 2021.
The deadline for applications is 5pm Friday 4 May 2018.
