Life Changes Trust have a number of funding opportunities for young people with care experience. Bursaries and grants are available to cover the costs of carers developing their interests in areas such as music art, sports and crafts. Another awards scheme provides young people-led grants to help carers aged 21-26 develop their careers and reach their highest potential.
“The Aspirational Awards scheme is a young people-led individual grants fund aiming to empower care experienced young people aged 21-26 to think big about their future and transform their lives with a significant grant to help them reach their best potential. They have proven extremely popular, so Life Changes Trust are now funding a third round of Aspirational Awards.”

Creative and Active Lives
“Care experienced young people have told us that they would love more opportunities to be active and have fun, developing their interests and trying out new things in areas such as music, art, sport and crafts. Research shows that these activities can support a healthy lifestyle, boosting physical and mental wellbeing.
We believe that paying attention to creative and active opportunities for care experienced young people will deliver direct benefits for young people who engage in projects we fund, and wider benefits for all care experienced young people in Scotland. These wider benefits will come as creative and sporting organisations and groups learn more about how to reach care experienced young people, and make small adjustments which support them to take part.
In this way, this funding initiative will link with the overall programme goal of creating transformational and sustainable improvement in the lives of care experienced young people.”
