Hempsons recently joined forces with the Social Enterprise Coalition to produce the authoritative guide to social enterprise in health and social care delivery.

The guide is being used to illustrate how social enterprises can empower health and social care workers and patients, to inspire staff, demonstrate innovation and reach out to the poorest in the community.

Social enterprises are businesses that trade for a social purpose, reinvesting the majority of profits into the community.

There are currently around 55,000 social enterprises in the UK with a combined turnover of £27 billion per year, which employ half a million people and contribute almost 1% of annual GDP.

With a collection of detailed case studies highlighting the diverse range of social enterprises operating in these emerging markets and how they are bringing fresh approaches to service delivery, the report follows extensive research by a joint team from the Coalition and Hempsons.
