Edinburgh Community Food are delighted to have received funding from the Scottish Government’s Oral Health Community Challenge Fund to support families in the local community with oral health advice. As part of this project we are launching the Fizz Free February campaign, encouraging local people to quit fizzy drinks for the month of February and improve not only their oral health but their overall health by reducing their sugar consumption.
This campaign was first launched by Southwark Council in 2018 and was picked up by SugarSmart in 2019. It is gaining momentum this year and Edinburgh Community Food are excited to be at the forefront, bringing it to the attention of the people of Edinburgh. We are reaching out to all our partners to get involved in whatever way they can to encourage organisations, schools, individuals and families take part. We will be posting on our social media platforms daily throughout February and asking participants at all our projects to make a pledge to go Fizz Free.
