Talking Mats are holding a seminar on Tuesday 17th April in Stirling entitled which will explore the importance of understanding communication in youth justice settings.
Sally Kedge & Alayne Mckee from Talking Trouble in Aotearoa, New Zealand will present their innovative work addressing the high levels of speech, language and communication needs experienced in youth justice settings. In addition, we have speakers from around Scotland reflecting and sharing their good practice. This will be an opportunity for services in New Zealand and Scotland to learn from each other.
Talking Mats have partnered with the Justice Scotland CEN (Speech and Language therapists working in Criminal Justice settings) who will continue the programme in the afternoon. Researchers in the field will present current findings to the group.
You can come for the morning only or for the whole day. Everyone is invited to stay for lunch as we feel this will be a valuable networking opportunity
