Social Media Training

Weds 25th May 2022

10am-3pm

Online

Whether it’s a mystery to you or you want to share your experience, this session will challenge, inspire, and enthuse you to ‘take action and go social’. This interactive course will help you understand the landscape of social media and plan an approach that empowers and excites the people you want to engage.

‘Great tips and analytics’ Tony Brown (Islington Council)

You’ll explore social media, how it can work well, how to create engaging & shareable content and how to fix things when they go wrong. There will be lots of opportunity to discuss how you currently use social media and you’ll have chance to step back and really examine how to get the most from all platforms.

The course will cover:

  • Why use social media?
  • Finding the right platform for you
  • How to create engaging content
  • What to include in a social media strategy
  • How to enhance your marketing
  • How to plan your content effectively
  • Creating a social media policy & crisis management
  • Measuring what works and what doesn’t

‘Interesting and useful course’ Jane Fergison (NHS Scotland)

The day includes plenty of group work, exercises and discussion – you definitely won’t be staring at a power point all day. You’ll also be given lots of opportunities to discuss your own experiences and develop personal strategies to aid your work.

If you have one, you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own laptop, tablet, smartphone, or any device you use for your social media. You will be practicing live exercises on the day.

New for 2022 – free follow-up session!

Every course now includes the option of a 90-minute follow-up session on Zoom. You will have the opportunity to discuss your recent experiences, be given time to practice what you’ve learned, and get feedback.

‘Really useful overview of social media’ Andrew Myers (Free Tibet)

Who should attend this course?

This course is designed for both experienced and novice social media users. Whether you’re just about to launch a social media strategy or you want to add new skills, you’ll find this course is for you. What this course won’t include is how to create different kinds of social media accounts, but we will discuss which networks are best suited to your needs. We’ll also direct you to the online instructions & films if you’ve not yet created Twitter, Facebook or Instagram accounts.
