Have you always wanted to be a freelancer but aren’t sure where to start?
Maybe you’re a freelancer already, but you’re feeling a bit stuck?
Or maybe you have a ‘real’ job and are unsure when is the best time to ‘step off?’
If so, then this is the workshop for you. It’s a fun and inspiring session on how to manage a Portfolio Career in the Arts. Award-winning performance poet, scriptwriter and educator Cat Hepburn (BBC 6 Music, Sonnet Youth, Edinburgh Fringe) will lead you through conversations, exercises and give her top tips on how to carve out a sustainable freelance career. We’ll explore how to get over our freelance fears, from valuing our work, to self-promotion and lots of stuff in between.
The training event is for practitioners working in participatory arts.
Tickets are available for this event for Glasgow CAN members and non-Glasgow CAN members. The ticket price will vary depending on this and are pay-what-you-can. We do have a free ticket option available to those who would really benefit from this event but do not currently have the means to pay for training. Please only book one of these tickets if this is the case. Glasgow CAN is a small social enterprise and we rely on income from events such as these to sustain the organisation, especially during this difficult period. Thank you.
Live AI generated captions will be available at this event and Glasgow CAN will do our best to ensure that we meet any any other access needs. Please get in touch with Jade Sturrock by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any specific access requirements. For example, we can arrange a BSL interpreter if needed, though we do ask that you let us know a couple of weeks prior to the event. Thank you.
