Our annual Christmas Fayre is back in all its splendour. Bannockburn House is proud to host our fayre and open our doors to the public again

About this event

What better way to get into the festive mood than spending a day coming to Bannockburn House and enjoying our biggest event on the calendar, our annual Christmas Fayre.

After last year not being able to host our fayre event, we are delighted to be able to open our doors once again to the public.

Saturday 4th & Sunday 5th of December,

11:00 am – 4:00 pm each day

Free to Attend – But we ask you to bring a tin or packet of non-perishable food in aid of “Ladies of the Rock” Which will help stock up their community larder in the run-up to Christmas.

Bring the whole family, we have activities suitable for all ages! There will be an outdoor nursery with plenty of activities for the little ones, candle making stations, roasted chestnuts and marshmallows, and even Santa has promised to pay us a visit!

We are running our own Christmas shop and there will also be many stalls run by local businesses – Plenty of items for stocking fillers!

And if you get hungry or thirsty then visit our tea room for some hot drinks and mince pies and shortbread. We are delighted to have the wonderous, ” Ladies of the Rock” Co-Running the tea room during the weekend We will also be selling boxes of delicious homebaked cakes too.

Our fabulous log reindeers will also be available to purchase at the event. These can even be pre-ordered with your free Eventbrite ticket.

Our amazing and knowledgeable volunteer tour guides will be taking guests on a guided tour of the house during the event. These can be booked in advance alongside your free ticket when confirming your order.

We have had a fantastic array of donations from many local businesses for our raffle this year. We would like to thank each of your generous donations, Brea Restaurant, Jade Garden Chinese Takeaway, Bannockburn Coffee House, Scotmid – Bannockburn, Cafe Am, Kennedy Cuts Barber, History and Horror Tours, Jintz Express, Brunos, Escape Rooms Stirling, Keystore – Plean, Morrisons, McQues & Garrats Hairdressing.

We have all of this and so much more going on at Bannockburn House’s Christmas Fayre.

This amazing local Charity hosts a community larder giving away free food directly to the community. We are delighted to be Co-running our tea room this year with this amazing organisation. We are asking guests to bring a tinned item of food which will all be donated to this amazing charity.

Next year we will have an outdoor nursery running the grounds of Bannockburn House. They are going to be running a few activities for children on the front lawn inside of their massive bell tents. at this event.

We are very happy to have a couple of the rangers from Hushwing Rangers coming along to our Fayre. They will have a fire barrel and roasting up some chestnuts and Marshmallows.

A massive thank you to Landscaping by Wallace for donating our real Christmas tree, which will take pride of place in the Laigh hall as you enter Bannockburn House.

The Rotary Club are very kindly bringing along Santa’s Sleigh for the event. And will be playing all the classic Christmas music as you arrive to the house.

Our good friends from the Royal Oak will be at the house supporting the event. From playing historical music to helping Santa in his workshop and even putting in a good word with Santa at the north pole and getting him to come along to Bannockburn for the weekend.

As we need to use Corbie wood stadium for our car parking for this event. We are extremely grateful to our friends at Stirling Council for access to the minibuses that will be ferry you back and forth to the event.

Tickets

This year to help with managing numbers, we are asking guests to book a time slot when they order their tickets. You can stay as long as you want, this will help us spread out attendance throughout the day.

Physical tickets can be picked up for free from Traynor’s newsagent in Bannockburn.

Photography & Filming

At the event, we will have some volunteers taking photos and videos during the day. This will be used in online publications. They will ask permission to take any photography, which you have the right to decline.

COVID-19

As covid is still among us, we are asking that we all take steps to ensure that we limit the risk of infection at this event.

  • Wearing of face coverings at all times while inside the building and inside of the minibus to the event (unless exempt)
  • Maintain Social Distance while at the event
  • Applying Hand Santisfer upon entry to the event
  • Your online Booking will provide the basis for our Track & Trace

Car Parking at Corbie wood Stadium

As Bannockburn House doesn’t have a large car park at present. We are asking all attendees to park at Corbie Wood stadium.

We will be providing a free minibus shuttle service that will take guests to and from Bannockburn House. These will be running throughout the event.

Corbie Wood is located across the road from Bannockburn House. The postcode is FK7 8AB

** No cars will be allowed on-site during the event. The only exception to this will be for disabled visitors to be dropped off at the door.

Accessibility

As we are a historic house, not all parts of the building are completely wheelchair accessible. All the activities apart from the guided tours of the house and the craft stalls are on ground level. The link below is a link to our accessibility guide.
