#CreativeConnect is a free networking event aimed at freelance artists and those working within the participatory arts sector in Glasgow, organised by Glasgow Connected Arts Network.
Join us on Tuesday 25th February, 6.30 – 8pm at Southblock Cafe for a friendly and informal evening of networking. We will be feasting on pancakes as it is Shrove Tuesday and the evening will be a chance to meet with peers, make new connections and inspire ideas.
We will also be hearing from GCAN member Karen McGrady Parker who has 20 years experience as a Theatre Maker and Creative Producer. For 14 years she was Associate Director of Scottish Youth Theatre and is now leading two community projects, ‘Velocity’ based in Barrowfield, which is linked to celebrating the European championships of 2018 and ‘Playlist 22’ a project in Dennistoun, themed around sharing and connecting through music. In both of these projects, Karen’s focus has been on strengthening the community by working people of all ages and backgrounds who face different needs and challenges and we will get to hear about her experiences first hand.
This event is totally FREE and for those looking to make new connections in the arts. If you have a particular interest in socially engaged arts practice or are looking to get into the field then this is the event for you.
If you have any access requirements please get in touch. For example a BSL interpreter can be arranged if planned in advance. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
