The Festival runs from 14-20 July with performances in Anstruther, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Stirling.
The Church Hill Theatre Gala Performance on Thursday 18 July, 7.30pm is one of the highlights of the 25th Dunedin International Folk Dance Festival, with performances from Solvedaja from Tallin, ESTONIA and ‘Les Enfants du Morvan from Dijon, FRANCE.
These two groups will bring their traditions of music and dance from their countries to perform alongside Edinburgh-based dance groups, Dunedin Dancers and Edinburgh University Scottish Country Dance Society ‘New Scotland’ featuring the range of Scottish dance – country dancing, highland, hard shoe stepdance and ceilidh as well as the Irish dance and music group ‘Absolutely Legless’ and dancers from Polish group ‘Ojczyzna’.
The concert is a fabulous opportunity to hear the different musical traditions and see the various different dance styles and costumes. Organised by Dunedin Dancers and Edinburgh University’s New Scotland Country Dance Society, the festival also has a number of outdoor performances in Edinburgh and other locations – Anstruther, Glasgow and Stirling.
