We are pleased to announce our second Engaged Journalism meet up which will be in Edinburgh on the 10th October 2019.
Engaged journalism is about putting the communities you serve at the core of your reporting, impact and revenue.
As UK Ambassador for the Engaged Journalism Accelerator, Social Spider CIC wants to bring together practitioners of engaged journalism and those with an interest in the field, to identify how we can better achieve these aims and to share knowledge and experiences.
Our second meet-up will feature talks, workshops and discussions around a range themes including inclusion and the role that cooperative structures can play in engaged journalism. Further details will be confirmed next week.
The purpose of our event is to bring people together to have conversations about their work, in order to strengthen our impact and develop our financial sustainability. We hope attendees will bring an openness to discuss their experiences and share with the group.
The event will run from 1:30pm (for a 2pm start) until 5pm.
Attendance is free but places are limited so please let us know if you wish to attend.
Social Spider CIC are a social enterprise based in north London. We publish three monthly community newspapers: Waltham Forest Echo, Tottenham Community Press, Enfield Dispatch.
