Developing the Young Workforce
Kibble Education and Care Centre

The Experience is a work integrating social enterprise for youth employment and training in the leisure and hospitality sector. It offers go-karting, laser experience, a large restaurant, events space, and other leisure activities. Our new YES Programme, which is located at The Experience, is currently recruiting young people aged 16-29 who are furthest removed from the job market. The programme offers young people:

a 26 week placement delivering practical work experience, core skills development and job search advice
the opportunity to gain accredited SQA and City & Guilds qualifications
support from dedicated Youth Employment Support Workers on a 1:4 ratio
support from a dedicated Employer Liaison Officer to help young people in move to a positive destination

Making full use of all areas of The Experience, six dedicated teams will support small groups of young people in a diverse range of areas encompassing:

Customer service
Community based outdoor services
Vehicle systems maintenance
Painting and decorating
Creative techniques

The Big YES Programme will directly deliver positive outcomes relating to the Scottish Government’s national agenda on youth employment and support local authorities achieve positive impacts within their community planning programmes.

KibbleWorks has a strong track record over the past 11 years of providing employability support, addressing social inequalities and improving the chances of young people at high risk of long-term marginalisation to move into the labour market or further training.

With our extensive experience we are now ready to launch our new intervention. This three year part funded Big Lottery Programme is aimed at delivering employment focused intervention at stage 3 of the Employability Pipeline to offenders/ex-offenders, care leavers and young people furthest from the labour market.

The intensive programme will support, guide, coach, train and mentor each young person towards the goal of employment, further education or training. Both the vocational training and work experience elements are driven by labour market demand and targeted on the leisure and hospitality sector.
