“After 16 years with Triodos of which 10 have been spent in Scotland, David has decided it is an appropriate time to move on and take time to reflect before he takes on his next sustainable challenge.
Since moving to his native Scotland with his family in 2004 David has done a great job in developing and establishing the profile of Triodos, initially by himself and then with the Scottish team securing many of the most influential sustainable organisations as lending and/or deposit customers and providing an excellent platform for the next stage of the bank’s development. Over the last 2 years he has also assisted Tom Owen to successfully develop the personal banking market in Scotland.
From those early pioneering days when David worked from home to today’s more obvious presence in Hanover Street in the centre of Edinburgh, David has been consistently passionate about his customers and the promotion of Triodos in what has become an increasingly important part of our business.
David has much to celebrate as he leaves. In addition to the significant growth of the business to which he has contributed, David was instrumental in making the Scottish Parliamentary reception in 2011 happen and it is a great testament to our presence in Scotland that Triodos is the opening case study (headed Cultural Change) in the Scottish Governments report into the banking sector “Sustainable Responsible Banking” published in May this year.”
